Saint Patrick's Day: Slainte!

Today is the end of my mini Irish blog-a-thon. Enjoy the spirits of the day.

May the road rise up to meet you.
May the wind be always at your back.
May the sun shine warm upon your face,
the rains fall soft upon your fields.
And until we meet again,
May God hold you in the palm of His hand.

Here is one great meeting: The Pogues and The Dubliners singing "Irish Rover" together. (Although The Dubliners guy is making up his own words as he goes--Tom Clancy would not be pleased.)

Great Video!

Ok, I say that the Clancy brothers would have approved whole heartedly on the ad libbing. Updating, modifying, and kickin' around the lyrics is the best way to keep the spirit of folk songs alive.

The Clancy brothers, themselves, changed some lyrics for amusement.

Like: "and such a rusty hole as that I never blocked before!"

"she's got a mouth as big as Galway Bay..."

Hope you had a great St. Patty's day!

Okay, me, you have a point. But I liked that the Pogues guy stuck to the traditional words, against type.
