The Wearing of the Green

Happy Bloomsday everyone. The annual salute to James Joyce and the mother of all first dates of the last century that lead to Ulysses.

But the wearing of the green this year goes to the Iranians fighting for freedom in their lives. Andrew Sullivan has been covering this since Friday, showing the amazing power of the internet. And now Twitter seems less ridiculous. How amazing to witness history at this ground level.

Well, I'm saving my green for March - Moussavi okayed Salman Rushdie's death sentence, among other horrific career highlights.

He's not a good guy, and I think that much of the fight is between two right-wing theocratic factions...

Tom, your points are exactly why I'm not a political blogger. I don't doubt that Moussavi is no deliverer. But there were some signs that women might have some more freedoms under him.

Jeremy, what a great site. Much to ponder there. And what a perfect comment on these last 2 posts. Thanks for sending.
